At TH13, players often need to protect millions of Gold, Elixir, and Dark Elixir while upgrades are in progress. The most effective farming strategy at TH13 involves placing your Town Hall outside the walls. This gives attackers an easy 1-star and a shield for you, while your resources remain protected behind multiple defense layers. Most trophy-focused attackers will take the Town Hall and leave without pushing deeper for your storages.

Resource collector placement matters more than many players realize. Collectors accumulate significant loot when left uncollected — spreading them around the base perimeter means attackers can only reach collectors on one side without committing a full army. This layout distributes collectors evenly so no single attack angle gives away all your passive income.

Dark Elixir is usually the most valuable resource at TH13 since hero upgrades and strong troops require massive amounts. This base centralizes the Dark Elixir storage behind the strongest defense concentration, making it the hardest resource to reach. Even a 2-star attack often fails to reach the DE storage.
