Hero Upgrade Order Guide 2026 — BK, AQ, GW & Royal Champion Priority

If there is one universal truth in Clash of Clans, it is this: your heroes determine your attack ceiling more than any other single factor. A player with maxed heroes and average troops will consistently out-perform a player with maxed troops and weak heroes. Heroes are always on the field, they reset between attacks, and at higher Town Hall levels they carry entire raid strategies on their backs.

Why Heroes Are the Most Important Upgrades

Heroes are permanent. Every other troop gets used once and must be brewed again. Heroes regenerate automatically and are available for every attack you make — multiplayer, Clan War, CWL, Clan Games, Legend League.

AQ to 30 is the #1 priority. Queen Walk becomes available and transforms your attack capability. Never let AQ sit idle — always queue the next upgrade. If you only have DE for one hero, always choose the Queen.

TH10: AQ to 40 > BK to 40

Same principle. AQ should never be more than 5-10 levels behind your TH cap.

TH11: GW to 20 First

Grand Warden's early levels are cheap and fast. Get him to 20 quickly for the aura bonus, then shift DE back to Queen. After GW 20, resume AQ priority.

TH12: AQ > GW > BK

AQ cap jumps to 65. A Level 65 Queen with full Cloak can reliably deal with Eagle Artillery areas.

TH13: RC to 25 First

Royal Champion starts at Level 1 and needs investment to be useful. Get her to 25 where Seeking Shield becomes meaningful, then resume AQ-first.

TH14: AQ > RC > GW > BK

All heroes push toward max (80/80/55/30). The gap between TH13 and TH14 hero levels is substantial.

TH15-18: Equipment System Dominates

Heroes still level up, but effectiveness is heavily influenced by Hero Equipment. Balance DE for levels and Ores for equipment.

Hero Equipment System (TH15+)
